Meet a few of our esteemed academic faculty members, who embody excellence in their respective fields.
Prof. Dr Jessica Hastenteufel
Winner of the Venia Legendi award for academic excellence in the field of business administration studies, she has worked as the head of sales management at Bank 1 Saar eG, and as a managing partner at the Institute for Banks and SME Financing.
Dr Vikram Finavker
Dr Vikram is an expert in investment management, corporate finance, financial modelling, stata, SPSS Statistics, datastream, Eikon, Bloomberg, CapitalIQ and Endnote. He teaches on a variety of modules in the areas of investment management, corporate finance, and econometrics and holds a PhD in Finance from Middlesex University. His research involves an analysis of UK non-financial firms’ use of financial derivatives, in particular, whether UK firms are using derivatives for hedging or speculation. He has presented his work at international academic conferences and to professional audiences at the Bank of England, Standard and Poor’s and Citi Bank.
Prof. Dr Thomas Zöller
An expert on advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, and their relation to digital transformation, with a PhD in Machine Learning for Image Processing from the University of Bonn.
Prof. Dr Gerhard Sälzer
An experienced tenured professor, and a well-established private sector manager, with over two decades of experience in different business positions, from working in finance and controlling to managerial roles in telecommunications, IT and cleantech companies.
Dr Nahla Betelmal
With many years’ experience teaching and marking assessments in different areas of finance and accounting, Nahla has been a Statistical Researcher at the assessment department of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for over five years. She works with ICAEW’s subject matter experts to design high-quality assessment tools and material of the ACA qualification. She has designed, developed and implemented the processes for academic measurement which ensure that ICAEW retains its robust and reliable assessment system. She teaches on a variety of modules in the areas of Corporate Finance and Behavioural Finance, Accounting and earnings management, and Research and statistics. Nahla holds a PhD in Finance from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Prof. Dr Mirko Bendig
Specialises in innovation management, entrepreneurship and international management, and has worked in the private sector, as a corporate and innovation consultant, since 2007. In addition, he is the founder of a digital innovation management start-up.
